So Sweet!

Rainy Day Randomness

Today’s been a rainy, slightly chilly, overcast day. Yesterday it poured most of the day, but today it’s just sprinkled off and on. I’ve gotten quite a bit accomplished though, so that’s nice. :) Aside from our Nursing Home service (and stops at two stores) I’ve done some secretarial work for Dad and also gotten in 2 (read that: two) hours of painting!! :D So I’m happy. :) Plus my painting is coming along really well, so I’m really happy about that. :D

Did you see the pictures from Jenna Bush’s wedding?! The White House only released 11 photos (which can be seen on the White House’s web-site but I can’t get a direct link), but aren’t they pretty?! It looks like it was a very simple but very elegant wedding. (Makes me want to have an outdoor wedding! ;) ) Can you believe that they apparently managed to pull it off without the media?! Yay for them! :) (Article here and some more pictures [motorcade, souveiners in the area, band members, etc.] here)

I got a skirt at the thrift store yesterday to make another apron, and I think it’s going to turn out soo cute! Maybe I’ll work on that tonight. :) If it turns out I’ll post a picture. ;)

Paul Harvey’s “Angel” has died. If you’ve listened to him very much at all you’ve heard him talk about his “Angel”. :)

We got in on Answers in Genesis’ big sale and got some of their DVD’s for $1.99!! You can’t hardly beat that! (And the sale is still going on so it’s not too late if you’re interested!)

Oh, have I mentioned lately that I miss my niece? ;)

Day 2 :)

Missing “my” girl

Britt has a fella!!

Some of you may remember back when Brittany “got a fella”, there was a little bit of “discussion” on my blog as to whether it was Brittany or BrittLeigh (whose name is also Brittany in “real life”). :) It was of course, Brittany, even though BrittLeigh’s nephew thought that it was she who needed a fella. :)

Well…now she has one! :D Congratulations, BrittLeigh!! :D

(To further complicate conversations in the ”blog world”, she is dating a guy named “Andrew”. So now in our ‘blog circle’ we have Sarah and Andrew, Brittany and Andrew, [not to be confused with Brittany and Ashley], Jessica and Ryan, Erica and Ryan, and Jodi and Ryan.  Thank you peoples!! )

Um...did anybody follow any of that?!

That cutie-pie and her parents are getting on a plane tonight and flying across the country to visit her Aunt Sarah. (Prayers for their safety are appreciated!!) What am I going to do for a week without her?!?!?! I miss her already and the plane hasn’t even left the airport. :)

Happy Mother’s Day!

It’s late and I don’t have alot of time to post, but I wanted to say “Happy Mother’s Day” to (as Dad says), ‘all you mothers and all of you that had a mother’.

(And I’m not really late–I posted a “Happy Mother’s Day” two weeks ago. :) )

Double Knockout

:: Mom’s roses are blooming (!) and she has them sitting in front of my painting of her pink rose! ::

:: Edited to add this picture, per mom’s suggestion :) ::

I voted!!!

Yep, I’ve already voted in the Kentucky Presidential Primary even though it isn’t for two weeks yet. :) Since we’re not working our district we had to vote absentee this year. (First time I’ve ever had to do that!) And I’m not ashamed to tell you that I very happily clicked the “Huckabee” button!!! Now I can tell my grandkids someday that I voted for Huckabee. ;)

The bummer?

I didn’t get an “I Voted” sticker. :(

I think we’re going to need a boat, peoples.

It has been raining pouring all. day. long! I can hear it outside the window right now just pouring down.

Oh well. It made the trees and grass look really green. :)

Just call me…

Judge.

I am now a sworn, raise-your-right-hand, never-been-in-a-dual-I-promise, officer of the court. :D Isn’t that so uniquely Kentucky?! If you are elected, say…Governor or something ( ), then you have to swear that you’ve never been in a dual!! Anyway… Spencer and I are working the polls this year and I was chosen to be a Judge. :) (Spencer’s a Sherriff.)

We’ve been at Election School this afternoon and are now home brushing up with our “Election Officers Quick Reference Guide” that only has a mear 57 pages! Yikes-O, there’s alot to know about working the polls! And if, say, you don’t show up? It’s punishable with up to 5 years in prison! Oh, or if you show up and then do something the wrong way? That’s punishable with up to 5 years in prison too!  What has Spencer gotten me into?! ;)
